Text Notifications for Parents

Published: Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

Posted on March 1, 2017 - On Monday, April 3rd, Minooka Community High School will begin the process of adding SMS text messaging to the notification service (SchoolMessenger) it uses to communicate with parents. This new addition is not intended to replace our existing means of communication - it will enhance them.

At 6 p.m. on April 3rd, parent/guardian cell phone numbers on file in PowerSchool will receive a text message from 67587 requesting them to opt into Minooka Community High School’s text message alert service. Please note the following:

  • If you would like to continue receiving messages from MCHS, you must reply affirmatively with one of the opt-in key words: “opt in” or “subscribe”. Simply reply to the original message (or send a text message to 67587) with either of the words. Again, please note that you must reply to that text message with either of the opt-in key words in order to begin receiving these messages. You will be registered to receive approximately three messages per month.

  • If you do not wish to receive any additional text messages, no further action is required after you receive the initial text message on April 3rd.

  • To opt-out of the service at any time, text the word “STOP” to 67587.

Please feel free to contact the Community Relations Office with any questions at 815-521-2341. Thank you.
