Senior Meningitis Vaccination Reminder

Published: Friday, July 7th, 2017

Posted on July 7, 2017 - This is a reminder that all students entering 12th grade must show proof of having the meningitis (MCV4) vaccine in order to attend school. All 12th graders must have received 2 doses of the meningitis vaccine, OR if the first dose was given on or after the 16th birthday, then only 1 dose is required. Proof of the vaccine must be turned in before the first day of school on August 14th, or your student will be excluded from school until such time that it is received.  Additionally, if your student would like to receive his or her schedule early at Registration Day in July, then proof of the vaccine must be received on or before Registration Day.

If you are unsure of your student's vaccine status, please contact your healthcare provider.  Proof of the vaccine can be dropped off at the main office at Central Campus anytime during open office hours over the summer or can be brought to Registration Day in July.  Please see the MCHS website for current office hours.

MCHS nurses are not in the office over the summer, but we will occasionally check email.  Any questions regarding your student's vaccine status should be sent via email only to Peggy Babic, RN at pbabic@mchs.net. Please note that the meningitis vaccine is available at most local urgent care clinics and pharmacies, such as Walgreens and Osco, without an appointment needed.
