We welcomed several new MCHS staff members last week at our New Hire Luncheon! We are excited for them to join our team and know they will do great things. Please help us give a warm welcome to our newest hires!
On #MinookaMonday, as the school year comes to a close, meet Aubrey Knight. She's the Director of Community Relations here at MCHS. Chances are you've received communication from her, talked to her on the phone, or heard her voice when you call the school. She manages our social media pages, writes press releases, plans special events, and more. Though she started at MCHS in August, she's lived in Shorewood with her husband and two children for the last 11 years and loves being part of the community. Aubrey graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of St. Francis. 🧡🖤
Last week at the Board of Education meeting, student Maisy Kaplan was honored for her 3rd place finish at the IHSA Journalism State Finals. Way to go, Maisy! We also recognized four of seven of our retirees, Bob Tyrell, Melissa Hoffart, Frank Yudzentis, and Denise Johnson. Their service to MCHS is immensely appreciated. #mchsproud #mchsgrateful 🧡🖤
It's graduation day! We are so excited for the Class of 2023! The gates open at 3 p.m., students report to the gym at 3:45 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 5 p.m. There are no tickets and no limit to the number of guests a student may bring. View the livestream here: https://bit.ly/3MC4R9e 🧡🖤

Today, our seniors attended Graduation practice to be fully prepared for the big day! They also each signed the Minooka "M", which will be hung on the wall, a tradition that began in 2008. We are ready for Graduation and the weather looks beautiful. Congrats, seniors! #MCHSClassof2023 #Graduation 🧡🖤
Seniors, graduation practice is today at 10 a.m. in the Central Campus Main Gym. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. to be seated accordingly. We look forward to seeing you there! #MCHSClassof2023 #Graduation 🧡🖤
We'd like to recognize seniors Mikayla Glover and Blayse Messino for giving up their free time to partner with the REACH program to help encourage, teach, and support their students. We are so grateful to them for leading by example and serving the community. #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Thanks to Stroll Shorewood Estates for the amazing MCHS Dance Team highlight in the May edition! Our team placed 15th in the nation at Nationals under the leadership of Coach Melissa Wallace. We are so proud of all this team and program has accomplished this year! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Mr. Maruszak's Yearbook class premiered their documentary that followed this year's book creation and all the students working hard behind-the-scenes. It was a sentimental look back at all they accomplished this year. The class also signed and added photos from the year to a guitar that they gifted (and surprised) to Mr. Maruszak. It was a nice surprise.
Ms. Elli Wilkey's Baking 2 students were tasked with creating an edible book fair. They created cakes that represent a particular book of choice. Here are a few examples that our talented bakers created! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Today is the IHSA 3A Minooka Boys Track & Field Sectional at Central Campus Stadium! Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running events begin at 4 p.m. Join us to support our students and enjoy food from a BBQ food truck on campus. Live Results can be found at live.athletic.net 🧡🖤
The Class of 2024 (current juniors) can find important information regarding senior portraits, yearbook photos, and IDs here. If you have any questions, please reach out to support@vipis.com.
As our senior class exits the building on their last day of school today, they are greeted with chalked sidewalks of well-wishes! Thank you, seniors, for the last four years and know that your legacy will forever remain at MCHS. We look forward to celebrating you at Graduation. 🧡🖤
Congratulations on a successful Thespian’s 2nd Annual Open Mic Night last week! There were 17 acts (freshmen through seniors) and over a hundred audience members. There were songs, skits, poetry, and monologues. The students did a phenomenal job! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Best of luck to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team who plays Bloomington Central Catholic tonight at 5 p.m. at the Central Campus Athletic Field! We received the 5th seed position and a first round home playoff game this year. Help us fill the stands and support the team. 🧡🖤
Congratulations to our Students of the Term (fourth quarter)! These students are selected by teachers and staff and honored for achieving a personal standard of excellence/character, making exceptional contributions to the class, and more. #mchsproud #MinookaMonday 🧡🖤
Our Clothing students from Mrs. Ziel's class used what they learned to create their own, customized looks for Prom and Graduation! Angela Ceballos made her dress in class that she will wear at Graduation while Moira Kozlowski created her look for Prom. They did such an amazing job! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Our horticulture classes are selling vegetables, flowers/foliage plants and house plants while supplies last. They are $3 for 3-4” pots and $5 for the large tomato plants. Please contact Ms. Kristen North at knorth@mchs.net to arrange pickup at the Central Campus greenhouse.
To all the MCHS moms and mother figures, we wish you a Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you have the most special day ever.
