This spring, the SAT and PSAT exams are changing to a digital format. Students will not be taking these exams as a paper and pencil test as they have in the past. In order to prepare our students for this change we will be providing all Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students a practice exam this fall. These practice exams will give students an opportunity to experience an online digital exam and help them be successful in the spring when we take the SAT and PSAT exams online.
On Wednesday, October 11th, MCHS will be giving the official PSAT/NMSQT to all Juniors while a practice PSAT 8/9 will be given to Freshman, and a practice PSAT 10 will be given to Sophomores. This will be a non-attendance day for Seniors. We will be running a modified early release schedule on this day, following the A/B bell schedule. Buses will run this day to transport students to and from school. Lunch will not be provided due to the shortened schedule.
These tests are important for our students and provide parents, students, and the school with important feedback on progress towards becoming college and career ready while at MCHS.
In order to maintain a positive testing environment for all students, please refrain from calling your student out during the testing day. This can create a disruption for students that have not completed testing.
Freshmen students will take a practice PSAT 8/9 at South Campus
Sophomore students will take the practice PSAT 10 at South CampusJunior students will take the official PSAT/NMSQT at Central Campus
The bell schedule for each campus will be shared once the schedule has been finalized.
