MCHS will offer students the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT on either Saturday, October 12, 2024 or Saturday October 26, 2024. 11th grade students can take the PSAT/NMSQT at MCHS in order to potentially qualify for entry into the National Merit Scholarship Program.

If you are an 11th grade student (Junior) who would like to take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 12th or 26th, please complete the following: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER 

(MCHS STUDENT EMAIL IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER)

  1. BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 9TH, students can register to pay for the test online. The cost of the test is $18. Registration will END OCTOBER 11TH.

  2. Once registered, the $18 fee will be added to student accounts in Powerschool. 

  3. Please pay the registration fee prior to taking the test on October 26th. 

  4. JUNIORS: Testing room assignments will be posted in the ARC prior to the test date.

  5. Report to Central Campus no later than 7:30 AM on OCTOBER 12th or OCTOBER 26th and go to your assigned testing space. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.

About the test:

  • This test will be online. All students will need to bring their Chromebook and chargers to the test. 

  • The test is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes in length (standard time). 

  • Components include the Reading test, the Writing and Language test, and the Math test. 

  • No penalties for guessing. 

  • Focus on the skills identified as necessary for college readiness. 

  • Automatic screening for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

All Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students will be taking a Practice ACT test in October to prepare for the new ACT State accountability exam in the Spring. More information will be coming soon regarding ACT testing.
