Our REACH Art class enjoyed creating a 'Sculpted Faces' project, in which students first drew out their ideas, chose their color scheme, and brought their creations to life with clay and paint. They turned out amazing and we are proud of their hard work! #mchsproud

Congratulations to Lauren Sullivan who completed her first solo flight and successfully passed this portion of flight school! She will now move on to prepare for the written exam and flight training for upcoming cross-country flights. We are so proud of her accomplishment and wish her the best of luck as she continues her pilot journey! #mchsproud

This week, the Board of Education recognized Maya Ledesma for her 4th place finish at the State Cross Country meet. Maya also earned first place at sectionals AND at regionals, in which she made history as the first runner to break 17 minutes on that course. Congratulations! #mchsproud

Congratulations to Megan Belli who received a positive referral! She went above and beyond to help a friend and to make sure MCHS was safe for her peers. She helped clean up a major drink spill in the hallway near the social studies office for about 5-10 minutes. She didn't need to clean, but she chose to do so to help. Way to go, Megan! #mchsproud

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department took students to the Local 150 Operating Engineers Training Facility in Wilmington as part of National Apprenticeship Week. Students toured the training facility and gained insights into careers such as heavy machine operator, heavy machine technician, construction building inspector, and geothermal and water well drilling specialist. The students engaged in several hands-on learning experiences. It was a great visit and we appreciate the collaboration!

Last night, the Board of Education recognized Davian Atwood, Marisol Carbajal, MaKayla Cole, Rhiannon Curiel, and Isaac Ulloa for being named a National Hispanic, African American, and/or First Generation Program Scholar by the College Board. This is a tremendous honor that recognizes the academic achievement on the PSAT, on AP exams, and cumulative GPA. Congratulations! #mchsproud

Congratulations to Amelia Brykaj, Peyton Nuccio, Lexie Wenckowski, and Lotta Steiner for receiving a MCHS is You positive referral from Ms. Julie Ziel! These students volunteered their time to help hang up our Native American Heritage month posters and banners. It was very nice to have students take pride in celebrating a variety of cultures. #mchsproud

Want to look back at an old MCHS team? For the last 6 years, students in Sports Media classes have researched more than 400 Minooka varsity teams. The Athletics Archives is a work in progress. Check it out: https://sites.google.com/mchs.net/athletics-archives/home

Congratulations to D'Angelo McKay who received a positive referral from Ms. Ashley Veleker! He saw her struggling to carry things to her next class and stopped what he was doing to hurry ahead and help her get into her classroom. Way to be kind, D'Angelo! #mchsproud

The Art Department hosted an 8th grade workshop and it was a big success. The students were extremely creative and engaged. We enjoyed being able to teach our future students at MCHS!
