During the school year, we enact drills that are required by the state to prepare everyone in case of a real emergency. We will practice these September 11-15 with our students and share this schedule so as to inform everyone that these are drills and not a real emergency.
On this #MinookaMonday, help us welcome Alison Kelly. She's in her first year at MCHS teaching Health, Fitness Fusion, & Sophomore P.E. She lives in the community with her husband two-year old daughter and is also an alumna! She graduated from NIU with a degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education and a minor in Health and is currently in school to obtain her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. She joined us from Minooka Junior High and is most excited to continue working with the great students at families at MCHS!

Due to last week's extreme heat, marching band practice was moved to Friday morning for a "sunrise rehearsal." These students started their day on the athletic field and were greeted with a stunning sunrise!

Alumnus Joshua Lustro, master cosplay craftsman, credits Mrs. Ziel's sewing class for his costume-making ability. He is pictured here winning the Anime Midwest 2023 Master's Best Prop and he plans to compete at the Anime Midwest 2024 World Crown next year. It's great to see our students put the skills they learn in class at MCHS to use after graduation!
We hosted our Open House last night and invited families to both campuses to meet the teachers and staff as well as walk the buildings. We enjoyed meeting parents and appreciate their dedication to MCHS. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a success!
Please give a warm welcome to Mrs. Rebecca Carmack! She is directing JV Madrigals/Jazz Transit and teaches voice lessons. She lives in Coal City with her husband and obtained her Bachelor of Music from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Music Theory and Composition and her Master of Arts in Choral and Orchestral Conducting from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently working on a second Master of Arts in Music and Liturgy at Alverno College. She looks forward to working with and making music with the students as well as working with Mr. Benware and participating in her first Madrigal Dinner! #MinookaMonday
