Mr. Mike Groark's Intro to Building Construction class worked on a new children's playhouse project this spring. Our students are talented, aren't they? What's more, these were given away to MCHS families to enjoy with their kids. 🧡🔨🖤 #mchsproud

Congratulations to Mr. Dennis Carrabine who is retiring from MCHS after 28 years! Dennis worked as the Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Physical Education and Driver Ed teacher. We are very thankful for his service! His family wanted to honor him for his hard work and dedication to positively impacting students in public education. He paraded through South Campus with someone playing bagpipes as his final send off. Best wishes! 🧡🖤
We welcomed several new MCHS staff members last week at our New Hire Luncheon! We are excited for them to join our team and know they will do great things. Please help us give a warm welcome to our newest hires!
On #MinookaMonday, as the school year comes to a close, meet Aubrey Knight. She's the Director of Community Relations here at MCHS. Chances are you've received communication from her, talked to her on the phone, or heard her voice when you call the school. She manages our social media pages, writes press releases, plans special events, and more. Though she started at MCHS in August, she's lived in Shorewood with her husband and two children for the last 11 years and loves being part of the community. Aubrey graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of St. Francis. 🧡🖤
Last week at the Board of Education meeting, student Maisy Kaplan was honored for her 3rd place finish at the IHSA Journalism State Finals. Way to go, Maisy! We also recognized four of seven of our retirees, Bob Tyrell, Melissa Hoffart, Frank Yudzentis, and Denise Johnson. Their service to MCHS is immensely appreciated. #mchsproud #mchsgrateful 🧡🖤

Today, our seniors attended Graduation practice to be fully prepared for the big day! They also each signed the Minooka "M", which will be hung on the wall, a tradition that began in 2008. We are ready for Graduation and the weather looks beautiful. Congrats, seniors! #MCHSClassof2023 #Graduation 🧡🖤

We'd like to recognize seniors Mikayla Glover and Blayse Messino for giving up their free time to partner with the REACH program to help encourage, teach, and support their students. We are so grateful to them for leading by example and serving the community. #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Thanks to Stroll Shorewood Estates for the amazing MCHS Dance Team highlight in the May edition! Our team placed 15th in the nation at Nationals under the leadership of Coach Melissa Wallace. We are so proud of all this team and program has accomplished this year! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Mr. Maruszak's Yearbook class premiered their documentary that followed this year's book creation and all the students working hard behind-the-scenes. It was a sentimental look back at all they accomplished this year. The class also signed and added photos from the year to a guitar that they gifted (and surprised) to Mr. Maruszak. It was a nice surprise.
Ms. Elli Wilkey's Baking 2 students were tasked with creating an edible book fair. They created cakes that represent a particular book of choice. Here are a few examples that our talented bakers created! #mchsproud 🧡🖤
Today is the IHSA 3A Minooka Boys Track & Field Sectional at Central Campus Stadium! Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running events begin at 4 p.m. Join us to support our students and enjoy food from a BBQ food truck on campus. Live Results can be found at live.athletic.net 🧡🖤

As our senior class exits the building on their last day of school today, they are greeted with chalked sidewalks of well-wishes! Thank you, seniors, for the last four years and know that your legacy will forever remain at MCHS. We look forward to celebrating you at Graduation. 🧡🖤
